Any reputable tranny builders in Northern UT or Northern CA?

I'm looking to get a new torque converter and valve body for my '05 but don't know any reputable tranny builders I could go to. I live in northern Utah but travel to northern California quite frequently, so I'd like to find someone between those two areas. Thanks!

J&H Performance in Redding, CA all the way. They are a DTT builder/installer and do top notch work. They also host/sponser lots of Diesel events as showen in Diesel Power mag. They are very nice and professional. Their tranny builder Joel is very smart and takes the extra effort. It takes them a week to do the complete tranny. They spent the whole Thursday and Friday dialing in my custom hot rod VB. They were $2,000 cheaper then the nearest ATS installer.

A+ in my book

Yep, I agree with BigDan, those guys are top notch in my book (J&H). I have had a couple of dealings with them and they are a super bunch of people to work with.
Plus, they really know their stuff, big power!

I don't trust most of the so called tranny guys here, (I'm in Bluffdale)--------I'm sure there is a few but haven't run in to any. Thats why I opted for a complete replacement of everything, and that I just did myself.

Best of luck,

Lance

Baker Diesel in West Haven Ut, does DTT. They did my 99' and will be doing my 05' shortly. Great customer service, and the tranny was awesome.

Thanks, I'll have to contact both of them. I have some friends in Sacramento, so I could stay with them while my tranny is getting worked on in Redding. Although, having the tranny builder closer to home (West Haven is only half an hour from me) would be MUCH more convenient, especially if something were to ever go wrong. I'm dying to get it done, but I'm still a few months out moneywise.

Also Ken at Diesel Performance is in West Haven as well. He does ATS if thats your thing. He yanks them out and sends them to ATS in SLC.

J&H has price sheets listed on their site!!!!

Personally I like the fact of having my tranny custom built at the shop instead of a generic tranny ariving on a pallet and then installed in my truck. Every truck is different and requires different tuning.

Moonlight orders the parts from DTT then they build your trans with the parts. then they tune the trans to your truck.

it's the same as if you drove to Canada and had DTT build it.

DTT builders have to fly to Canada and go through DTT's school to even become a builder, they build them the same way with the same beef as DTT of Canada!

Another vote for Terry @ Moonlight Diesel. I have seen some very impressive auto's come out of his shop including his own sled puller. Great to work with.
