Exhaust brake weirdness

I have an 08' w/ the 6.7. Bought it new and is stock. 30,300 miles. Lately there has been some weirdness with what I believe is the exhaust brake activating while depressing the throttle. Today I warmed it for about 10 min and took off down the road. Got to about 30mph and the EB engaged. Turned the EB off and the truck ran fine. Turned it back on a couple mies later and it seemed fine. Going down the road a couple times last week at 55mph and come to a slight grade. Ease down on the throttle to maintain speed and there were two or three slight hesitations. Not continuous like this morning but noticable. Any ideas guys? I run with the EB on all the time based on info from this site four years ago. Is this still an OK practice? Truck is great other than the CEL coming on every so often, then going off again a couple days later???

I don't know what the concensious is around here but I turn mine on when I anticipate needing it in the next few minutes and when I'm out of the hills or not pulling a trailer I don't use it.
Why leave it on if you don't need it? Kinda like having the A/C on all the time and then adjust the temp to warm...

Keeping it on all the time helps keep the vanes in good working order and helps clean the turbo out from what others have stated.

The truck still runs good and I'm hoping it's just a loose wire or something like that. I just hate to spend a bunch of $ at the dealership for them to troubleshoot a $3.00 part.

Another reason to use the EB all the time is it helps save the regular brakes. I've been using my EB since day one almost 6 years ago and at 83k miles the regular brakes are still fine. After I turn the ignition key to start the truck my next action is to push the button for the EB. I do this without even thinking...

Had the intermitten codes for quite some time but it started to pop up more often as time went on. Finally took it into dealership with CEL on but code was not active. By this time I found I could cause the CEL to come on by using EB with a heavy load so did this intentially and took straight to dealership after unhooking trailer and not shutting off engine. Got a new turbo the next day and no more problems. Deleted shortly after that. I had right around the 90K mark when the new trubo was put in under warranty. Truck was stock up to that point but with less than 10K left on warranty I decided to delete now rather than later.

I dont know what the deal is. I started it yesterday to warm up and it had a terrible irregular idle, with the EB off, so much that ir caused the truck to shake. Pushed the EB button and the idle smoothed out. Then the CEL came on. Taking it to the dealership and hopefully they'll find whats wrong.

Found out today there was a TSB on some part on the turbo. They are addressing the issue at the dealership. Its covered and I get my turbo cleaned.

Very curious how this works out. Does the tsb cover a replacement turbo if needed? Not that it really matters to me now that my new one is delivered on my dime lol. Suck it up and go on I guess. Kinda sounds like as these things are updated with reman units the problems are going away. I hope anyway

They told they will test the turbo after installing the part. If it does not perform then they will install a new turbo. I will pick up the truck tomarrow and find out what all they did.

Brakes are cheaper than tranny, dif and universals. I use my EB only when I need too. At. 130k miles and my brakes are still good to go. IMHO

Just curious, why does using the EB equate to wearing out the trans, diff's and universals? A friend of mine is the lead diesel mechanic at the dealership here; he told me from day one to always use the EB - it was going to be the best thing for the turbo. The 68rfe was designed for the EB to be used; mechanic friend said they just don't get trucks in the shop for tranny issues like the old days.
