Alarm Weirdness

The alarm on my 01 has started going off when I unlock the doors. It sometimes happens when it has been locked for a short time and almost always happens when it has been locked overnight or longer. The horn goes off three times then stops on its own. Any ideas?

Has someone attempted to jack the unit? Does it disarm ok from right door or key fob?

My truck was doing this for about a year and a half and then stopped. I thought maybe the neighbors Jeep was setting it off when they locked/unlocked their doors. Member J-Body had this occur also. My truck hasn't done it in over a year now. Last I had heard from him, his hadn't either. We called it the dreaded three honk syndrome. Nobody could figure it out but a few others had occurences too. Do a search on 3-honks at unlock and read away. Bent-valves did a great writeup on the possibilities in one of the threads. Good luck and let us know if you figure it out! Kurt

Mine did it again about three weeks ago when I came out after work. Maybe three or four times a year it will do this. For the longest time I would walk up to the truck and observe the flashing LED to see if it was alerting me to a possible break in. Never was, and about the time I would forget about it, it would do the three honk. In my discussions with Kurtaing and the things we've tried, my next "guess" would be to try a new CTM, but it's not bothering me enough to spend any money pursuing it.
