Thinking of trading for a 06 Mega stick

I have an 06 auto 75k the truck I'm looking at is the same year but its a Mega with manual love the manual and extra room this truck just broke 100k is it normal to have more motor noise with a manual and I don't mean drone or lugging but ticks and motor rattle just curious why its more audible with this one love my truck but really need the room another little one about to be here, it seems to run good no smoke at idle smooth running and driving I know it's no were nearly as quick as mine but it sure feels strong all thoughts and opinions appreciated

The shifter tends to transmit noises into the cab.

Yes, the G56 is a noisy transmission in general. Most of my noise quiets when I push in the clutch, though. That sounds like a cool truck. I haven't seen many mega cab stick shifts around here.

I'd say normal. My 07 Mega, manual trans makes all kinds of ticks, rattles, engine is kinda loud in general, but I have the silencer ring and muffler removed.
Haven't had any problems related to the manual trans othe than the OEM clutch was done for at about 50k miles, but I expected that when I bought it.
Other repairs I've done are common to all the trucks, steering box/pump 60k, front brakes 65k, #4 injector line 65k.
The gearing will be quite a bit taller than the auto in overdrive. You're probably going to be about 300rpms higher on the highway.

Bought the truck love it wanders a touch more than mine may just be the extra size You were right about it being geared taller the six speed is what sold me gonna check the front right brake maybe bearing little squeak when backing its most noticeable other than that I feel really good about the swap

I knowit's a little late but my 06 Mega with the G56 doe make more noises than my buddies 06 Mega with the auto.

Congrats on the truck. I LOVE the extra room in the Megacab. The wife, daughter and I take it on our vacations and almost all the luggage fits behind the rear seat. Usually only one bag goes in the bed.
