Fuel Rail Pressure
Hey all,
06 3500 135,000 miles all things are good, however I have been noticing my FRP running lower a than usual on my last run down the freeway. Filter is fairly new (change at same time as oil). I know I have been living on borrowed time for the pump so....What are the recommendations out there, FASS, Airdog, stock or..... Not too overboard with goodies now but who knows what the future holds. Lets hear recommendations

I'm Air dog all the way. I have installed several and not had a problem. As well as my own with 55k on it. They did have problems years ago with a seal going bad, but have since corrected the problem. BUT, I know there are people on here that love FASS. Check out air dogs website, they have great info on there. pureflowairdog . just remember to get a pump big enough for your needs. I didn't expect to end up doing so many mods, and I am almost to the point of needing a bigger one.

I used to sell AirDog products and quit because I could not in good conscience sell a product I knew was destined to fail prematurely
If you have any questions ask member Scotty how many pumps he has been through...they have replaced them under warranty but each time he is broke down, cant work his truck and has the cost or removal and replacement to deal with not to mention the aggravation......

you guys realize you're talking about lift pumps? Fuel Rail Pressure, or FRP as is stated, is provided by an injection pump... two different animals on this truck..

pdogg- Thanks for the info. I guess I need more education on my fuel system. I was thinking the new pump bypassed the IP.
Steve-l I monitor my FRP via an edge monitor. I have monitored that parameter since having the gauge. I noticed a lower than "normal" reading at idle and at freeway speeds.
Normal idle 7-8K current idle 6-7k freeway cruising Normal 17k+ current 15-16K.
My truck has been sitting alot lately but I did run a couple tanks through it last weekend, which is when I was noticing the difference. I am gonna put a fresh filter in and see what that does.
I know there is a wealth if information on the internet....but if anyone knows of a good reliable shop in or around Ventura County CA, that would be willing to share knowledge over a cocktail after hours let me know.

I have been told by edge that is where it should be, I think you are ok... just my

FRP gauges are nice to have, but feed pressure from the supply pump is more useful. You will note that fuel pressure will change with temperature and with seasonal fuel changes from the refineries, as does fuel consumption. There is less latent energy in winter fuel than summer, 10% variation is not unheard of.
