2005 dodge steering gets tight and brakes go out

Today I was driving to a job with dump trailer behind me I turned left from a stop sign and steering wheel got extremely hard to turn it was everything in my power to turn it and didn’t have brakes. Then it was fine. Then few miles down the road pulling right into the job and on the road before the job the truck done the same thing.I loaded the trailer up and left and went home and it never done it again. I installed a brand new power steering pump on it a month or two ago. This was my dad’s truck, but he said it’s done it a few times before on him. . And it’s done it about three or four times after installing the power steering pump. Any help greatly appreciated. thank you!

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Going to take a wild guess at a possible cause. Hate just throwing parts at a problem, but it this was my vehicle, would replace all the high pressure hoses in the system. My guess is that one of the hoses has the liner coming loose and at odd times blocking the flow. Of course, at the same time drain and install new oil.
