Offer for You Guys Who Have or Had Infinity Sound Systems!

If you have or had the Infinity Sound System in your 2nd generation Dodge pickup, I have an offer for you!

I'm looking to get a set of the A pillar covers with the tweeter ports like come in the trucks with the Infinity system. If you have these A pillar covers and no longer use them for whatever reason (went with an aftermarket gauge pod pillar cover, replaced your speakers and didn't use these tweeters, blew the tweeters and didn't get new ones, didn't like the tweeters, whatever), I am willing to work a deal with you where I buy your pillar covers or trade you for mine that don't have the tweeter port. Mine are tan and I would prefer to find matching tan pillar covers. I really appreciate your response because I would REALLY LIKE to find these A pillar covers with the tweeter ports. Thanks!

OK, no replies. Well, I'm still hopeful that I'll find some of these pillar covers.

But hey! For you guys that DO have the Infinity system, could you do me a huge favor and measure the tweeter part on the pillar cover to see what the diameter of the circle is? Most aftermarket tweeters are 1" in diameter and I'd need to know if I could mount a 1" tweeter in that slot before I went to the trouble of buying the pillar covers (once I find them). I'm afraid that the Infinity tweeter might be only .75" or so, which would be OK as long as there was still room to cut a 1" hole or something. Anyway, can somebody help? Thanks a million!

My tweeter is right around 1.75" in diameter, but if you come across a smaller tweeter, lets say 1.5" then you could jerry rig it (silicone?) somehow to fit the 1.75" pod.

1.75"? That sounds a little big. Especially since aftermarket tweeters advertise to be 1". Maybe you measured the whole tweeter housing or something? Anybody else have some input?

Well since it was 10 pm and I went outside in my underwear to measure it for you, I didn't feel like removing it. But since I'm such a nice guy, when I install my gauges this week, I'll keep you informed of it's size.

IMHO, I would forget about just the stock pillar w/ the tweeter and up-grade to one with gauges, including the tweeter. Just face the facts....you need gauges, espeacially if you don't know how hot your EGT's are when your timer turns off your engine. Just my $.02.

I just remembered that I can't go. I'm going with dad to get an exhaust and intake done on his Vette early Friday morning. Maybe next weekend.

Dude, Thursday night isn't Friday morning. We ain't gonna burn the town down or anything--you'll be able to get some sleep. Remember that I'm old/practically married--I can't be staying out all hours of the night either.

Besides, I'm road tripping to Orange, TX next weekend.
