Question 2001.5?? How do you know?

Was looking at an example for sale online this morning. It has 4-wheel discs and ABS. Also, according to CarFax, it was originally titled in May of 2001 and had 1 owner.
It's got 90k on the clock.

Opinions?

2001.5 isn't an "official" model designation. It's just how Ram owners differentiate between the early 2001 models that had rear drum brakes and the late 2001 models that had rear disc brakes (among a few other mods). So, if the truck you're looking at has rear discs, it's a 2001.5.

The 4 wheel disc brakes are a clear indicator that it is a 2001.5 The 2001 originally had drums in the rear.

I've also noted it seems most 01.5's have the exhaust manifold bolt retainer straps.

Was the exhaust manifold prone to shedding bolts?

What's funny...is my '01, first titled in 9/00 has disc brakes. It does have the hoodliner that was dropped and couple other things I can't recall. I had to have the manifold bolt keepers added as it shed the rearmost one.

My big thing when buying it was the discs.

I wonder if that is because it was a 3500 dually, not a 2500.
