My red brake light warning light stays on all the time
I have already tested the e-brake switch and fluid valve, bith are good, any ideas what could make this light stay on

I'm not sure about your dash lite arangement but the generic is its a hyd. problum[hit the brakes hard , does one wheel lockup ,then it is hyd.] if not then you may have a antilock problum, not enough info.

Does the ABS light come on for the self check at start up... (5 seconds or so)
The brake system is fairly simple...
Check the Hyd. pressure switch by disconnecting the wire.
Check wiring and sensors to the rear speed sensor (2 front sensors if 4 wheel ABS)
You might trying bleeding out the system and replacing the fluid. (If dark colored)
Usually the BRAKE light indicates that the fluid can build pressure from a leak or from bad fluid (water loaded)

if the speed sensor were bad in the rear dif...wouldnt i have other issues. You want to hear something wierd though, I had my truck on a lift in gear and the wheels were turning, but no indicated speed, as soon as I drove it though it worked. Does that mean anything or is that normal?

ok...I pulled the sensor to check it, its broken in pieces. I put it back in, now the abs and red brake light are on, so I must have broken her good now. I am picking one up and I changed the fluid while I was at it. Man I hope this fixes the original problem.
