Here too some. I guess as a novelty or for roping practice. Wouldn't want to try and eat one unless I had to.

Glad to see youall appreciate grass finished beef! Weaning 9 tomorrow. Kept two from the year before, they'll be harvested this fall. My oldest daughter kept 4-6 every year to sell as freezer beef for her FFA SAE & some income. Ruminants evolved to process grass, not grain. They actually have to completely change the micro-biome in their rumen when they are finished on grain. Old English cattle like the Dexters finish sooner and seem to marble more on grass than the continental breeds, I'll bet their milk has a higher butter content too huh? How do they handle the Hawaii heat?

That '80 Power Wagon resembles my '77 with the flat bed. Looks like it might have a slight lift or maybe that's just because the front bumper is missing? Still not near enough for those tractor tires though!

Scout4bta, I dig those old school white spokes! I had a set on my '62 ****** CJ-3B... I bought a set of turbines, my other favorites, with Ground Hawgs a while back. Not really sure why because they are way too wide for anything I'd ever run but I always wanted a set (like the General Lee had).

We're really starting to promote water harvesting here too. Not that we're short on water with 50"+ a year but now it comes in quick, heavy bursts and all runs off and/or causes erosion. Plus city water for cattle can be expensive but they do better and consume more if it's cool clean water.

Wow, bovines & Mopars - I could talk all day...
I bought my truck to haul my horses and cattle, really, so they do go hand in hand. We are breeding for A2 milk, and Dexters easily have have the best, creamiest milk! I have some old world jersey in my main mama, but her babies are mostly dexter, with just a smidge of old world jersey. They are all poled, and smaller, I also trained by bull on a leash, but I just sold him for big money because he was so easy to handle and friendly Way easier to deal with an 800 pound bull than a 2000 pound one lol. My teenage boys train all my cattle, like pets, so super easy to handle, and Dexters have the best personalities too. The A2 milk is the goal though, and my main mama "Kaimoo-moo" is A1-A2 and is her daughter, but the bull I just bred them too is poled, pure dexter and A2-A2. A2 Hiefer's and bulls are worth over 3k on this island.

the meat is super good, but of course, yield much smaller, but earlier and more cost effective here. They do great in our climate.

Remember, for a long time, the Parker ranch was the largest ranch in the world!

The Hawaiian painiolo predates the American cowboy by over a decade.

"Old world" breeds are really huge here, and becoming a large part of the Ag economy as the nation gets more educated on our shitty food supply LOL.

If my "diesel" trees pay off, I will even be running my truck for less than a buck a gallon

There plenty of those here as well, but really not cost effective, more of a novelty I think

Had forgotten about the Parker Ranch. My dad toured it years ago when he visited.

A fellow down the road has Dexters. He makes a "chorizo" that is out of this world.

CruisingRam, do youall process your own milk or sell raw?

Still on interior

Today took my ds window and bottom lift track to the glass shop to have them urethane it together. The forward vertical guide above the window opening had a chip in it and it rusted a little. cleaned rust out, a little spot putty, sanded and painted semi gloss black. Window will go back in tomorrow. Scrubbed the heck out of the door panels.Shampooed the carpeted and gray material area on them. Looking sharp. Would like to put new armrest pads on but $160 each? That's nuts. Mine are elbow divoted but not torn. Getting closer, next will be fusible link delete. Then..... I'm thinking about cosmetic resto on the engine and compartment.

Went to start my 89 that hasn't run in like 7 months, I was going to start it to warm it up so I could take a hot oil sample to get tested for fuel dilution, pumped the lever on the year and a half old Cummins transfer pump that started leaking not long after the warranty was up, (it's still leaking, dang it) it sputtered just a few turns then took off. I walked back to the garage for a few minutes & heard it just shut down, looked out & there was smoke coming from under the hood, ran back to find out the plastic electrical top of the Fuel shut off solenoid broke off the solenoid and the center wire in the top happened to touch metal and was shorting out. I'm guessing it's not fused? That ended my chance of taking a sample. Watching a few videos of replacing the solenoid looks like it's kind of a pain in the rear to do.
Geno's garage has an aftermarket for like $20.00 or and OEM for $42.00, Sticking with OEM I would guess would be a better part?

There's aftermarket guts for the FSS out there supposed to be better. I have no idea. Is the $42 genuine Cummins? Sounds cheap for OEM.

I gutted mine.

Today I ordered a rear pinion seal. I stopped for a leak on the way home last night and noticed I want the only thing leaking…. I guess with 500000km it’s to be expected.

Slowly been developing a grinding noise in the front end of Patches when turning and slowly accelerating, been having difficulty locating the source. It seemed to start when I swapped on my summer tires so thought maybe the tires were causing the noise so quickly swapped on my winters and when it was up in the air I grabbed the front tires at 12 and 6 and pushed/pulled and there is a significant amount of movement, guess the front hub bearings are going bad! Parts have been ordered and guess I will be doing that on my next days off.

That's a fun job. Reminds me of being like 3 years old and having jelly all over me and everything else, except now it's axle grease...
