Driver window motor

Advice or direction needed. Bout 2-3 weeks ago I tore the door apart checked the switch and all with meter. Good to there. No grounding issues either. Removed window motor, plugged it back in and noticed it would not move. Gently twisted the gear with pliers, and presto IT WORKS! Both directions. Reinstalled and lubricated everything and made slight adjustments cause i noticed it dragging in a spot at almost 3"completely open. So with all that being said I been driving and enjoying the air! Then we got a little shower 2-3 days ago and DADGOMMIT! Back to square one! Could it be that the regulator and motor mating get the motor in a jammed (in a bind)position? Or is there maybe moisture getting to the motor thru the gear opening? #rd motor on the driver side in about 3-4 years. Thank goodness for lifetime warranty on that part! Thanks for any and all help!

Did you open it up and check the brushes while you had the motor out? that's what mine was doing , and I replaced the brushes and no more problem

That was the problem with mine except I didn't have any new brushes. I freed them up and lubricated the bearing and put it back together. It's working so far. Next time I'll see if I can find replacements on Amazon or at the local hardware shop.

Took a two hour trip to stretch her legs and take in the cool mountain air. She seemed to be running good and wasn't all that bad to drive. Factory Captain chairs are not all that comfy.

Wait.... was that a typo?
I find the '92/'93 captains chairs to be one of the comfier seats I have ever had in my rigs. Sure beats the 1st gen bench seats or 2nd gen 40/20/40 seats for long drives in my book.

The truck is looking great and I am glad it is running well.

Unfortunately, no it was not a typo! Maybe my seats need refurbished or something. For some reason I feel like I'm siding forward out of the seat and have to keep shifting around to keep my back comfortable.
Thanks Oliver, I'm still working at it but I had to skip the de-rusting of every screw and bolt..LOL.

I had them in my '86 W250 and took it 7 hours one to Michigan to haul back my road runner. Couldn't have been better riding.

Frustrated, thanks! Man your truck looks sharp and that blue is really nice! Unfortunately, I spend to much time working on stuff to even look at the color..lol
I was cleaning up the driver's inside door today, sound deadening, lubing up all the internals with lithium grease, silicon on the new window felts, then noticed the speaker is completely shot. So I guess now I have to install new speakers before installing the door panels. The original radio was not working, so I thought I would swap in a good spare that I picked up. Well that turned into a whole nother aggravating mess. I'm to fat and old for all this stuff..lol. Finally got the new radio in and of course only the back speakers are working 😒. Now I guess I will spend the evening researching for good replacement front speakers. Wish I wasn't considered an essential employee and could spend a whole month just trying to finish up some of these projects!
Thanks again to all you guys and the sticky's, they are my go to for fast information and make things easier to figure out!
