looking around at all the armrests at the local upullits they all have divots in them. Wonder if harder foam would take care of that?

Changed the window channel seals and door seals. No I can run down the gravel at 80 mph and don’t have to listen to the windows rattling in the tracks. Rock auto for the win

Any sage advise on removal of the pump? Finding hidden bolts etc?
There are the two big bolts...15mm I think...that hold the pump to the timing case, remove them last. Then there is a L-shaped bracket on the under side of the pump held with 10mm bolts...take some pics, or mark that one before removing it since the bracket can kind of fit one way but not correctly. There is an oil feed line from the block to the vacuum pump, I remove the line from the block...10mm as well I believe and best to remove the PS lines from the back of the reservoir as well....gonna loose some fluid but worth it for the time and effort savings. You should be able to slip it out past the oil pressure sending unit.

Good luck!

I eventaully made mine with rigid foam and covered with matching vinyl. You can cut the foam with a sbre saw or band saw.

Local upholstery shop. The lighter color is more rigid than the darker so you can screw into it. Bought the vinyl covering to match at the upholstery shop also.

Does the power steering pump come off the back of the vacuum pump? I was only able to break one loose. I need to buy a 3/8 breaker bar. One of the nuts was on really tight. Put a combination wrench on it with another box end and it same apart and I banged my knuckles on sharp metal. Does the power steering pump unplug from the back of the Vaccum pump? It's supposed to have 4 bolts holding it on. I think the one in the back bottom is missing the nut. I'm probably not the first guy in there. Lose power steering fluid? Not a problem!!! It leaks as it is from somewhere.

My neighbor came over and wanted me to change the accelerator pump on his '71 F100. He had a kit so I rebuilt the carb. Did that standing under the pop up while it was thunderstorming.

I did see the oil supply line. Good idea on the removal. I have 3 Mopar IP replacement videos. All they do is tell you to remove 3 bolts and loosen the 4th. Bend the bracket to the rear. They don't show how to do it I tried taking that bracket off before to swap the FSS out. If I remember right 1 is either a Torx or allen screw. And the others are 10, and maybe a 12. I just love working on "half breed metric SAE" vehicles. Never got the bracket out. I custom ground a shorty wrench instead.

I am thinking one of the former owners pulled the timing cover and did the KDP repair. Found Black RTV squished out above the engine tag.

I'll get some pics.

#2 IP swap out video......................

You want to remove the whole vacuum/PS assembly as one unit, removing the PS reservoir doesn't do you much good since it's the vacuum pump that is in the way to get at the last bolt on the IP.

Just trying to get the rear bracket off right now. This wrench with the red handle won't get the bolts? I didn't get out there yesterday the thunder storms were crazy.

I think that wrench is supposed to work to get that lower bolt off the injection pump...I was just to cheap to buy one since I found it easy enough to pull the PS/Vacuum pump.

I may end up doing that anyways.

Don't know why I didn't see the bolt on the rear bracket you loosen.

Here it is .

The bolt near the seam of the PS pump. This is possibly a recall replacement IP. There wa a recall on them. Fulcrum would snap and your throttle would go dead.

89 12valve, I have to pull the bracket off that holds the throttle linkage to replace the FSS, the adjustable link for the throttle lever, they have a swivel ball on both sides of the link, can you pop off the swivel from it's ball without hurting anything?
Thank You!
