From what I could see in your pictures, it still looked "drivable". At least to get off the road.
Depending on how your metal searching goes today...You can always give me a shout out when you find yourself looking for 1st gen unobtainium.
I was on a slight downhill grade and was able to assess the damage in a pull off about a 1/4 mile from the big bang. About an hour before that I was on a big downhill grade grossing close to 18k, so if it had to happen, it happened at a good place.
I'm digging thru my factory parts book today to see which parts I need, and will let you know if can use any of your archived collection.
I finally got to drive mine for the first time since March. A family friend gave me a bunch of Bur Oak. The limbs were about the size of wash tubs. I needed to drain the fuel tank to replace the straps and arrest that rust but it's easier to drive it out than pump it out right? So I go redneck and secure it with a ratchet strap. Split the oak and started hauling home. Had it heaped as high as safely possible with out sideboards. The ride was exquisite.
Still working the old girl, trying to get rid of the nagging chores before I can park her back in the shop and address all the deferred repairs. After hauling 6 loads of Oak, I took a load of asphalt shingles off an old garage we're tearing down to the dump - it had 4 layers on it! My nephew filled the bed almost to the top. It was over 1,500lbs of shingles! Truck weighed in at 6,900lbs with an almost empty tank, me, a spare tire and some fluids & tools.

After putting down a bunch of new rock this year I thought I would try something to keep it on the road instead of plowing it off, I used an 8" piece of conveyor belting and bolted it in front of the blade and it works like a charm very little rock is picked up and after I get a decent base and the ground freezes I will remove it.
We just finished a November where every day was above average, never happened before. Now in early December we are starting out the day in the high forty's and ending the day in the high seventies. Because of the “ La Niña “ season we don’t expect much rain or snow this whole season. Alas, Life in Phoenix is not sustainable for much longer. I always figured that I would be dead before that happens but that is in question, especially because I plan on living to be 200. 😉…Mark
