Today, I pulled the driver's side front tire, re threaded a cross threaded lug stud (the tip only), and was able to get all 8 lugs back on.

I then replaced my belt tensioner and put on one of those fancy green belts Mark wants so badly. Got it from Slammazon...


Seems to work just like any other belt, other than the type that won't hold my pants up.

Sorry I haven't updated you guys lately. I started throwing up on monday. It was oic because I'm such a wuss when it comes to pain. It was the split sternum type which is ok since I wanted the job done right.

They did a *** maze procedure for the afib which is supposed to last longer than the other things. I've been on Eliquis for about year. I was searching for the right surgeon and I had to switch insurance companies and primary care docs to get him.

Tjman is that the hole you cut in the bed before for the same problem?

Sorry about Oliver getting stuck with an oil pan full of diesel.

Yes, Edwin. The hole I cut previously to stop the fuel leak from the return nipple of the reservoir, beginning of the year.

Oliver sent me a replacement reservoir, and I finally put it in, as the repair began leaking after several months of being sealed. Or so I think.

Either way it was time to replace the reservoir. I used "thumb gum" to seal it, so it's easily removable vs caulking it and not being. Glued shut.



Your surgery sounds painful. Hope they keep you comfortable while healing up. Good time to do some reading, I would assume.

Fast recovery, either way. Maybe YOUR fuel reservoir repair will last longer than mine.t

 

My biggest problem is not with the surgery but with the "standard of care" which was wrong when it was formulated and is outdated since a lot of it has been disproved. I wanted to go home one day early since I hadn't been able to sleep due to pain but the pain meds stopped me up. They said "OH NO! You could die. I said I could die on my Low sodium low saturated fats diet. Both paradigms having been disproved. They were giving me heparin and when they took out the IV it was very hard to get the bleeding stopped. I don't think i will get any clots in the time they need to get the coumadin going. I hate blood thinners people bleed to death all the time.

I couldn't sleep because they manhandled my Ankylosing Spondylitis to the point that my entire back is just a mass of pain. The beds there are small and hard. Plus they keep waking you up to take your blood pressure with an automatic blood pressure that they could just leave on your are and schedule it to run every 2 hours... Standard of care.

No salt or butter for my veggies. No ranch dressing which nobody could explain. They told me to stop taking almost all of my supplements because they didn't recognize and were to lazy to research. They had no explanation for that either. The only think I could see a reason for is Vitamin-K.

I think I'll keep on taking my vitamins which helps me to heal and keeps my sort of healthy.

Don't ever trust a doctor Always get a second and third opinion and read all you can about it. Mark Twain was wrong.

I was prescribed a Beta Blocker by one doctor. I did a bit of research when MY ankles swelled up. I discovered that Beta Blockers kill more people than they help. I have asthma and the dr. knew it. She apparently DID NOT know that Beta Blockers interfere with Asthma meds and could wind up killing you.

This is stuff drug companies won't tell and doctors don't have time to figure out is that a lot of meds are extremely dangerous. They kill people in ways that nobody knows about or even suspects.

Don't even get me started on medical errors or MSRA.

I hear ya Edwin....When I went to the Doctor after hurting my elbow at work...clearly inflammation in my elbow but Doc prescribed a muscle relaxant...Ummm why?? I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and take the meds, well 48 hours later I start to have major pains in my chest and around my heart with some numbing and tingling down my left arm, shortness of breath etc. I check out the side affects of the medication and the second "major" side affect is a fast irregular heart beat....but the doctor also knows that I have a naturally occurring irregular heart beat so my heart was going crazy and I was lucky I did not go into cardiac arrest. I stopped taking the meds right away and even when I went back to the doc and explained what happened he proceeded to say that he has been prescribing this med for 20 years with no ill affects and this should not have happened.

 

My youngest daughter....16 now....loves old vintage stuff, fashion, decor etc and wanted an older car for her first vehicle. I found a 79 Mercury Zephyr we drove 10 hours round trip to go look at but it turned out to be in pretty rough shape compared to the pics and info I was given. So continued the hunt and eventually found a 1988 Aries K car with a 2.5L motor, auto, A/C, buckets and am/fm WITH cassette!! One owner car, always garaged and said to have 183K original KM's.....but I think it's only 83K by the condition of the car. Car was almost 10 hours from me but had a friend who lives close by go look at it for me....said this thing is still brand new and worth the slightly higher asking price.

So loaded up patches and hooked to the trailer we made the trip down to go get it. It was everything it was touted to be so the purchase was made!

Those old K-cars were practically bulletproof given normal care...But they were also dull and boring...With that in mind it's probably the perfect car for a 16 year old young lady...Good snag!......Ben

Patches made the drive home with no problems, we did 1517Km's in two days and about 18 hours of driving for me.....Pulling the loaded trailer home I got 16.5 mpg through the mountains!

Only issue I had was leaving a lot and pulling out onto the road the trailer jack got bent backwards..... Oh well there are worse things that could have happened so i will take this with a shrug and figure out how to repair it later.
