What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
Hmmm, no dog food bags. Just some repurposed styrofoam, cardboard, newspaper, insulation foam board, bubble wrap and a small piece wrapped up in a latex glove (unused I should add).
I think he could ship an opened beer and it arrive without spilling...

Thanks guys! I am happy to help you guys keep my favorite truck[s] on the road.
Fan shrouds and interior trim are both pretty brittle, even more so when they are 25 years old. Shipping that stuff make me nervous that the shipping guy will ruin parts that are pretty hard to find.
KRB didn't get any of my recycled dog food bags, he got some of the left over blue Dow foam board insulation from my last concrete foundation job. The trim was taped to the blue board as a stiff backer so it din't bend then slid in some recycled padded envelopes followed by the box my 4 inch muffler came it.
When my daughter and I where fishing down by our local river last weekend, when we where headed home, we both grabbed an arm full of blue board scrap that had washed up the banks with the spring run off. It looks bad out on the stream banks and it will make much better packing "peanuts" than floating down the stream.
Reduce, re-use and recycle.

The black crew cab has been running great the past couple of days. I took it down to the car wash and soaped it up. WOW it is actually shiny now under all that dust!
It was running well with the timing bump, two turns on the fuel screw and a 3200 spring as the only pump mods. The temps where down below 1,000 at all time with just a little puff down low. It seemed like it could use a little more fuel up top.
The THD fuel pin I added to my '89 RC smoked heavily still at WOT, so I took it out last summer and put it on the shelf. I pulled it out and recycled it [you see what I did there?], by throwing it in the crew cab pump. It seems to be the perfect addition to that pump and tune.
It has a little puff to spool the turbo when you first step on the pedal hard after a gear shift then cleans up for the rest of the power band. I did pull the whitish spacing bushing, that limits travel, when installing the THD fuel pin
It might be headed down to Carlisle again this year as it runs so well...I have two days to pre order my show space, so I have to choose something soon. The last real trip it went on was to the show with my daughter in 2015.

I have a picture of us standing next to it in the show field in 2015 with Charlotte hiding under the capper to get some shade in her Metallica Master of Puppets T-shirt
It was the year I brought you down that 12 CM turbo housing.

Slowly progressing on my 92 W250 frame-off....Today I mounted my Archive Garage front spring rear shackle hanger kit, my ATS rear spring rear spring mounts/shackles and a set of Custom Suspension front and rear springs.
So I though I had a transmission issue last year so I pulled trans had a shop go through it and they said it was fine so I got a lower stall torque while it was out. While trans was out started investigating and found a fair bit of rust so replaced rocker panels inside Andy out with 4x4 square tube and had to replace front passenger cab mount cause rotted to nothing, I also patched floor pans passenger and driver, installed a hvlp and did some fuel pump funding, once all back together took for a test drive and still seemed not right. I finally got a second pair of hands last night and found trans kick down cable was restricting throttle travel got that all fixed and wow am I impressed with this truck now need to get some gauges before anymore pump tweeks
Wishful thinking my friend. The Tan Turd is getting a 318 for now. I'll tell you the story when I see you at Carlisle. With luck it will have the 318 in it by then but I doubt it. I had to make a decision by tomorrow regarding which vehicle to bring and at this point the Jeep is it. 440 swap some day...
I am going try to make it down friday. Tomorrow is the gate and go deadline.
Took Saturday off and lounged around, well cleaned house and carpets then lounged. Sunday on the other hand, I got my rear drums on and torqued, spacers on and torqued, replaced the rear pinion seal, drained/cleaned/resealed/refilled the rear diff and cleaned/cleared the rear diff breather. All that's left of this rear end project is to bleed the rear brakes, slosh diff oil to each end, torque the pinion nut, attache the rear drive line and adjust the parking brake. Always feels like a never end list of stuff to get done.
finally got my rear brake lines ran and hooked up. Bled them solo using a cup with fluid in it and some tubing running into the fluid. Thinking I am going to need to get an extra set of feet and bleed some more. Drained, cleaned, and sealed rear diff.
Just need to fill diff, adjust rear brakes and finish bleeding and it should be ready to tow the new to us travel trailer.

Got my Carlisle show space ordered today over lunch, before the deadline and price increase.
New this year is a show space and T-shirt deal, sign me up! Who doesn't need another Mopar themed T-shirt?
I am bringing the '85 W-350 and will be in the '81-'93 stock truck class. Neither of my '85 W-350 crews are totally stock, but to the untrained eye they look pretty close. Cummins conversions, suspension mods, and a few other minor changes, not much really.
