What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
I have a warn bumper on mine, but I also have the original pristine bumper in my shed. When I make changes to my truck,I try very hard to be able to put it back original if I need or want to...Mark
Towed our Toy hauler to a friend's place in Menifee,Ca for the weekend. It was 105F on the way out and I kept the AC on, truck in 5th and hammer down.
After we got back home I put the new transmission mount in, would of loved to do it before we left on Friday but it came in the mail 30 minutes before we left.
Truck ran fine all weekend. The new fan clutch was definitely doing it's thing, could hear a mighty Roar in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.
We're heading to Las Vegas in October for a dog show and before then will be changing thermostat and water pump as well as new Michelin front tires.

My a/c worked incredibly well when I first got my truck, but last winter something happened to it. Spring came and I started using it again and as it got warmer and warmer I noticed it didn’t work near as well as it used to. I’m hoping that I can just recharge it and have it be okay. It still has R-12 in it and was only recharged one time by the previous owner who had it for years. I still have some R-12, so I’m going to give it a shot when I get the thing going again. I’m crossing my fingers and my toes that the seals aren’t bad and that it will hold a charge.

Definitely cut the box open in the passenger compartment and clean it out. If it has never been opened you will have hand full of leaves, pine needles, feathers and small children in there ruining the airlfow and efficiency.
Luckily mine was converted to R-134A before I bought it but still might take it in to a professional to make sure the levels are correct.
When I had my radiator out last weekend I blew out the after cooler and AC condenser and got clouds of dirt and then rocks out of them.

Looks good! I too prefer the Warn especially on a beefy crew cab.
Back when they were going to ban R-12, I read about it and went to the fire station and recommended that everyone go and buy some 30 pounders. They only cost about 20 bucks,IIRC. I bought one and still have it, AFAIK, nobody else did, they were warned [nonono ]...Mark
Luckily my grandpa still has some but nothing to put it in so I can recharge mine with R-12. I’m hoping that between a recharge and cleaning the spot by the heater core that my ac will be cold again. Hopefully the seals didn’t go bad and it will hold it. I need to figure out where the little window you look through is to see if it is actually low. It used to be ice cold at idle sitting there.
