is it somewhere cool to vacation, maybe somewhere we can stay and eat his food and shower and stink up his bathroom, ya know just a short couple week stay among friends.
The question I have is ......

Where are all those antiques, rat rods, piles of "stuff" that Mark had at his place in CA ?

Was he able to move it all ? Did a scrapper come in there and clear it out? Did he sell it to his brother, so he can come back and visit ?

Lots of cool stuff there....way too much to move, I would imagine.

Okay, Farmboy, did you play football back in the day? Chant the Sooner song..."SOONERS, SOON THE BOOMERS.....

Oaklahoma, is where Mark has moved to. Home of the Sooners. CA will never, ever, be the same again. I hear all the transients, calling out his name, in a zombie state....they miss him.

And Mark misses them, I'm sure......NOT!

90% of that stuff belongs to my father so it is still there along with the stuff he stole from me and stashed.

I removed the flaked out ECM (I had no idea how much that little plastic box weighed), and jumped the "sensor return" socket to ground, which gave me back my speedometer. Luckily I don't need grid heaters down here. The wait to start and WIF lights were continuously on, with occasional random flashes off. I checked connections, sensor values, grounds, battery in voltage . . . I'm pretty sure that the unit is just toast. Does anyone know of a safe way to dissolve the foam rubber the computer is encased with?

Prior, I replaced the Odometer drive gears with a couple I purchased from Louisiana Gear per the sticky. Very happy with that.

Replaced the passenger's caliper hose. The outer jacket was pretty well flaked off and they didn't want to give me an inspection sticker.

Finally removed the bell-crank and its bracket in the accelerator linkage. Made a new bracket that mounts on the back of the injection pump, and cut down a TBI throttle cable to fit (longer than stock). I can't notice the increase in pedal travel.

Re-sealed the injector pump. The transfer pump looked good. The ten o'clock pin for the cam rollers was worn into the case pretty well, though. Tapped the bores covering the AFC pivot shaft to replace the ***** with cap screws & washers (and loc-tite). This pump has a smaller AFC foot than the one in my old truck, so I left it alone. I removed the negative torque control spring from the governor lever assembly. I installed a THD AFC pin and THD stiff AFC spring. The AFC pin is the perfect depth for the guide pin in this pump (like an idiot, I did not measure the guide pin length). I had to trim the new spring slightly to get no pre-load with the star wheel all the way down. I also had to trim the stop in the AFC cover to get full no boost travel from the guide pin. The stock stop collar was perfect for full boost pin travel.

I'm sorry I didn't realize that the photos from the pump sticky are gone . . . I could have re-documented the pump assembly process.

Pretty happy with the results so far.

Alec, good to see you on DTR more.

I got pulled over running errands in the Vanilla Gorilla today.
I had to explain to the the sheriff that antique vehicles in VT only have a rear plate, as his plate reader went off when he passed me with no front plate. After I explained the state laws to him, he asked a bunch of questions about the old crew cab, and told me to have a nice day and enjoy the cool old truck. He seemed pretty impressed with all the work done to the truck.

Alec, good to see you on DTR more.
Thanks Oliver. One of these days maybe I'll catch up with you at Carlisle.

Well, I've read a fair amount about these pumps, but have only done a few re-seals. You need a bench and a few hundred pumps under your belt to be a pro . . . If you did your own pump work, you've pretty much caught up to me . . .

That would be great Alec! I am not sure what we will bringing down next year for the show.
IF I get some free time this winter we have another cool 12V Ramcharger project that I am stashing pieces and parts for already.
I have all the parts organized for it now that I just got my hands on a used but pretty freshly rebuild, hot rodded up 47 RH 2wd transmission with billet internals and a triple disc Suncoast converter. I don't really know anything about 2wd trucks or automatics really, so this should be a learning experience.
Picture '78 topless, 2wd, diesel, muscle truck style build.

I just read that Commiefornia is considering outlawing vehicles with Internal Combustion engines in 10 years. In other words governor Moonbeam wants all electric cars. No idea if that means all the IC engined cars and trucks will have to move out of state.

Congratulations Mark. You got out just in time. Things are getting crazy out here.
