What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
Well I turned my wife loose in the truck and she got down the road. The clutch cylinder seems to have given up. The clutch is not disengaging so it cannot go into gear. I have a new setup coming in tomorrow at 1 pm so we'll replace it and see what's up.

Today I adjusted the valves add took the top off the injection pump only to have the tophat spring fly away. i found the tophat and the washer but not the spring.
I found a spring that fits and is very close in length. Should work until Ican get a Bosch replacement.

There are performance versions of the spring, which supposedly add some zing to your zang....
Lol
the parts i found were laying about a foot apart.I will look again today. Next time we go down the hill to do our shopping I will stop at Harbor freight for one of those magnets.
Oh...that spring... Yeah, I can see losing that one.
I used a bunch of white Terry cloth towels to surround the pump when I did my 366 spring. I dropped the spring, but the towels caught it

Today I ran to my storage and hauled a bed load of boxes and stuff back to the house.
Then dove into replacing the drivers side door latch mechanism. After my last trip my drivers door would not latch on the first try, sometime took 2 or 3 times to get it to latch. Tried lubing things but didn't help, so pulled a mechanism from a spare door....actually a loose one that came in the donor 1st Gen I picked up for the RC conversion.
Pulled it out, cleaned it in some solvent, compressed aired it dry and lubed it up really good. Man there are a lot of rods that run to that mechanism....5 different rods! Door closes much better now. Also Had to replace a couple spring clips on the door panel since a couple broke.
Then I decided I would finally install a fuel pressure gauge. I have had most of the parts for a while, but just never got around to doing it. It's just in the engine compartment, but better then nothing. Seems my Delphi piston lift pump is delivery a steady 10lbs pressure.....went down to 9lbs when I brought the RPM up to about 2500. Pretty happy with that!

This weekend I ran and grabbed another yard of concrete to finish off filling in a bird aviary and convert it into a shop. There were three bays and each needed almost 1 yard each. It was a bit tricky backing down a off camber dirt slope but the trailer was on a temporary ramp I made with old aircraft landing mats until it itself got up onto the slab.

I haven't done a thing n two days. It's been raining and the ground is wet and I'm not laying in it to fix the coolant leak. And we started heavy rigging at work so between that and the rain I've been sleeping all the way till it's time to go to work. I've only driven the truck ounce with the new turbo. Talk about bad timing. At least I have the wife's 4 door jeep to get around n. I stall it a lot. Lol. It's the v6 with NO TORQUE

Is that your 65 GT in the background ? Driving it about ?
Love the trailer concrete hauler. Is that a rented thing, or something you bought ?
