Used radiator needs a good home
I just replaced the radiator in my truck. The old one had a leak, which I had fixed at a radiator repair shop. The fix was to cut the leaking tube at each end, and to solder shut the holes in the header tanks. Playing very conservative, since just about all my driving is with a trailer, I eventually decided to replace the radiator.
Question: Does anyone have a use for a used sound radiator? I live in NE Ohio, and if someone out there wants one, they can have it if they come and pick it up.

I just sprang a pinhole leak in my '93 so I've been searching all the radiator threads I can find. I think I've about to head to the local rad. shop to have a similair fix done tomorrow.
In general I'm a little skeptical as to how long this band-aid fix will work for me though. I'm hoping to draw on your experience a bit though.
How did the fix hold up for you?
And what did you go with for replacement? Cheapest I found was the $250 Modine replacement. Any decent budget aluminum aftermarket radiators available for our trucks?

$250 sounds about right. Big radiators aren't cheap.
Killing a tube is permanent for that tube, but usually if one springs a leak others are not far behind. It's a good short term fix, like if you plan to sell the truck in a year. I think John made the right call in replacing the radiator.

Been away from home for a while, just found this resurrection. Wow, no answer for 15 months and then...Bang.
However, sorry, I trashed it about 12 months ago. Never really ran it so I don't know how long it would have lasted. I got the one from NAPA, all brass, I didn't want an aluminum one. Even had them scratch it to make sure it was brass.

I'll try to remember to look for the invoice when I get home. I can't recall the price off-hand (well I think I can, but I've been wrong so many times lately, I'm keeping quiet). I'll get back to you.

Sorry to take so long, the invoice was well hidden.
The NAPA part number for the radiator was 2460.
The price was $280.
As I said earlier, I had the local NAPA store phone the wharehouse, pull it from the box and check to make sure it was brass before I accepted the shipping. I didn't want a plastic or aluminum header tank. You may not care what it's made from.
