Brake voltage at trailer connector?

2013 Ram 2500 with factory brake controller. Trailer brakes worked good last year. Yesterday i hooked up and no brakes on trailer. I checked the voltage at trailer connector on truck with 100% gain on dash showing, but only get 2 volts at connector. When i plug in my 7 pin tester the BK light flickers and goes out. Any ideas?

2 volts compared to what? Suggest using a multimeter and check for voltage to a different ground to the plug. Also check for correct resistance on the ground terminal at the plug. Let us know what the problem was.

The lights and the constant power terminal all have a little over 12 volts. I would have thought that the brake terminal should give at least 12 volts when set at full gain on dash. The reason i started checking is that my brakes on trailer don't grab like they use to, and yes i adjusted them up.

Try running a temporary ground wire from the trailer to the truck and test the brakes again.

I went into brake settings and went down to #3 brake and all good now, wheels on trailer lock solid when gain is set to full. I never checked voltage yet.
