Adding a BHAF will increase under the hood turbo whistle. 1994 and up have a silencer ring to remove but not our 89s to 93s.

If you can buy it cheaper than a H1C upgrade, then it's a little bit of a mod. HX35's have a 56mm compressor and ours have a 54mm. I would use your exhaust housing and the rest of the HX. I wouldn't use the exhaust housing cause it's a 12cm and it'll run hotter than what you have now on the top end. It would be good to keep though for if you wver wish for twins, you'll need the gated housing.

Don't spend more than $300, and then only if you know and trust the seller.

The H1C upgrades don't fit, only the turbine housings interchange.

Under $300, the 12 is going to get hot towing. You cannot use the GDS on the HX but HTT makes a compressor upgrade for it. If you're planning on buying an upgrade and paying nearly 300 for an HX, you could easily find a used S300 62/65/14 for around 800, there were some new ones floating around for 800. But the place removed their prices and I'm not sure how much they are now..
