shutdown solenoid

shutdown solenoid

Does the solenoid need power to keep it open (IE, engine running) or does it need power to close (IE, engine shutdown). I'm trying to find a wire to use on my 1973 conversion for that thing.

power to open you could go old school and run a manual cable to it.
