power windows

My windows still work fine. The lock solenoid on the driver's door is bad, but I'm too cheap and lazy to replace it. It worked until about a year ago.

On my '89, the previous owner told me that the drivers side window motor was broken and that he had pulled the relay for the windows. Rather than getting another motor I simply decided to convert to a manual regulator. Much more reliable and I needed a quick fix. I checked the wiring and found that it was all there including the relay. I pulled the passenger door panel and there wasn't even a motor there. Also there was a chunk cut from the door where the motor was installed. Luckily the rivet holes hadn't been destroyed. I put in another manual regulator and back in business. Hearing how reliable your window motors have been, I just might go to the u-pull-it and get a set. The reason I didn't do that in the first place is that I have had the worst luck with power windows in my GMC and the Cherokee. I wish everyone a Happy New Year.

I swear i have faster powerwindows than any new truck. When I go kick tires at the dealerships i tell them that I'll buy a new truck if its powere windows are faster than mine. Still drivin the ole Dodge. The only complaint i have is trying to crack the windows at the top, because by just barely hitting the switch it goes down 1.5".

My '93 is starting to show its age in that department. The windows are slow as molasses in January and the passenger door lock button goes on strike more than the teamster's union. If the grid heaters are on nothing works until they go off.

My power windows work great in my '92. still go up and down smooth and are not at all sluggish. Locks are a different story. Neither side works from the button, but i really don't care, as i never lock the truck. Who would steal that thing??? My only real complaint is that in order to put the windows up, you push the button down, and vice-versa for putting them down. Must be the switch ius upside down or somethin......another thing to look into when i get the truck back
