more power

hey guys, im looking for more power. my truck is a 93 auto. the tranny is built, it has bully dog injectors. they are stock ones re-worked. a 14cm turbo housing, fuel pin, full power screw in about 1.5 turns, and a few other pump mods that the PO did. i do not know what he did. right now i got about 28 pounds of boost.

I think its time to look into a turbo. what would you recommend that isnt going to cost an arm and a leg?

Also, what else can i do for more power?

Got a pyro? What's it reading on the top end? Are you smoking heavy or just hazing under WOT? More turbo won't help unless you aren't burning what's presently available.

i can hit 1400-1500 if i hold it at WOT for a few seconds. when i first get on it it smokes pretty good, then it is a haze at WOT. What would you recommend for power upgrades?

If you can find a used HX-40, go with that. If not an S300 type turbo will be your best bet, but admission is near $1k.

S300/HTB2/Phat Shaft/whatever they want to call it is a Schwitzer S300 turbo. It's a lot tougher than the HX-40 (they commonly break the shaft) and is supposed to stay on the map to higher pressures. They are bolt on except for the custom downpipe.

I just installed a phat shaft 62/70/12 from IIS. With pods it spools quick and egt are not bad. Made custom exhaust just like stock but 4 1/2 inch. Turbo was 1k and store bought exhaust will run about 500 bucks but its worth it!
