more smoke with monitor unplged=more power?

I have a 03 ho with atriple dog with monitor. The pyro gauge was messed up so I had send it along with the monitor back to get fixed. All I did was unplug the 2 plug under the hood and left everthing else hooked up. I did throw a low boost and a over boost code. I could clear the over boost with the down loader but not the low boost code. The truck smoked way more with the monitor unplged. Am I getting more power that way or just wasting fuel? just wondering why it smokes more and what the codes mean. I also do have a boost elbow. Sorry this is so long just trying to give all info.

If you are talking about the Outlook monitor, I have heard you lose power with it......I bought one a sold it fast when I found this out.

I think I read it was a 30 HP loss,.........

The triple dog doesn't load in 3 programs to switch between. It loads in a single program with triggers. This is a common trick done on early ford cars to switch between tunes with a switch. Anyways, the moniter acts as a switch to change the position of the program. So if the moniter is sending the wrong info to the ECM, you will have not the correct HP.
