Straight pipe it and put a BHAF on it. Not gonna do much for power, but you might get a little more smoke out of it.

Are you talking about the cast iron elbow or the down pipe? If your talking about the cast iron elbow, then I don't think you can get a new one of those without getting a new turbo.

Downpipe is the first piece of exhaust pipe after turbo it is the piece that bolts up to the turbo. A new air filter of anykind will not give you more smoke. Smoke is created by more fuel and is lessened by more air but regardless you will be happy with air filter improvement quicker spoolup truck will be uncorked

Again, Why would you want to?

First: You give Diesel's a bad reputation as smoky, dirty, slow, pigs.
Second: You get new regulation slapped on us everytime we turn around.
Third: THAT SMOKE IS FUEL THAT IS WASTED (especially on that Ford ), I don't like wasting too much fuel at $2.15 a gallon.

And Yes, I have done it, but my smoke cleans up fairly quick. I am also 19 and LOVE making tailgaters "angry ), so I know about being young.

I just can't stand those rigs that pour smoke at the lightest touch of the fuel pedal.

Cudo's to Chris

The "I want more smoke" thing usually divides heavily along age lines. I try to keep my mouth shut when it comes up, for fear of being labled "Old ----". It's nice to hear someone under 25 voice more responsibilty and maturity than I probably did at that age.

The smoke is fun to play with..sometimes. But big brother IS watching and times ARE changing. Keep it away from other vehicles (and people), other than the drag strip...Have your set-up so you can control it around town...and resist the urge to show the whole world what YOU think is impressive. Then we can all continue to bomb away!

Off my soap box now....Here endeth the lesson.

Wow, Thanks Guys.

My original plans were for a smoke free 400-450 hp. I'm not there yet, and she'll smoke quite a bit. A buddy used to have an 01 with an EZ and Bully Dog Stage 3's and she would smoke like a freight train with no turbo's (would also peg his 1500* POST Turbo Pyro ) What a Moron!

But I'm Also Not Done Yet The HP may not come, but the smoke WILL leave.

Talking smoke

Remove the air cleaner and stick a rag into the turbo intlet you should get lots of smoke real cheap! but there will be a slight lack of power though!
