1993 Dodge Ram 2500 truck not start, Speedometer/odometer issues
My speedo is not working on my 1993 Dodge Ram W250 Manual trans and recently started reading up to 100miles/hr while only going about 10 and the odometer would also click away even when stopped. To avoid all the extra miles I tried to unplug the sensor and start the truck while waiting for the new speedo to come tomorrow. It cranked but did not start. I realized that was completely idiotic the second after and plugged it back in, but it cranked without starting up again.
Solutions to any problem would be greatly appreciated

Unplugging the VSS at the T-case should not effect starting and driving the truck.
Could you have bumped the FSS [fuel shut off solenoid] at the injection pump?
Is it getting fuel to the injectors?

I definitely did not bump the fuel shut off solenoid. It seems there is no fuel getting to the injectors. The truck started half crank for the past two weeks until I screwed with the speed sensor!

Let me try to help some more.
Cummins motors DO NOT take glow plugs, return those and never use that company that was trying to sell them to you again.
Cummins motor use a grid heater, which since it is summer will not be needed.
I know people that have started Cummins motors well below 0F* without them, so that is not your no start issue.
Make sure all the injectors are getting fuel, by either using the primer lever on the lift pump or by bumping the motor over a bit with the starter while the lines are cracked open.
If they are getting fuel, close them down, turn the key and you should be up and running.
I repeat, NO glow plugs

Sorry I meant the grid heater. I checked all of the injectors and they where all pumping when the truck was cranking. The reason I thought it was the heater was that the battery reading is at zero when I turn the key where it usually bumped up to 12 volts when cranking. Thanks Oliver, I didn't know that a 12 v could start without a heater
You need a strong battery [so it cranks over well], fuel at the injectors [which means the FSS is working] and it should run.
No need for swapping grid heaters and new wiring.
I can get one running on my shop floor with one wire to the FSS, a battery and a jug of fuel.

That's another problem, preceeding the overdrive issue. Either the PCM is knackered, or it's not getting the start up sequenced power. Looking at the diagrams, there's one power all the time wire to the PCM. Then there's a keyed power wire to it. When that goes high, the PCM then powers the ASD relay, which then sends "ASD POWER" to the PCM. Only then will the PCM run and drive the dash lights, grid heater relays, OD, tachometer, generator, etc
