Headlight adjuster spring

Ive broke 3 of the Dorman nylon adjuster mounts during install/light adjustment, all I can think is the adjuster spring is too stiff. Its a weird shaped spring, so wondering what others have used as replacements.

Have you compared the spring to the other light? Maybe somebody put an odd spring in that's causing the problem. I've used the Dorman parts and never had a problem with mine.

Same spring on both sides. May have to hit hardware store and make something fit or find way to lessen the preload of what I got.

I ended up putting a few small washers behind the headlight spring to reduce spring tension. Also put a little greasebetween the metaland nylon bucket. So far, so good.
