Speedometer and Odometer not working

Hello everyone, I just took out the dash of my '92 W250 to fix the little gear position indicator, put it all back together and everything works great except now the speedometer and Odometer don't work any more . I checked the fuses and they all seem OK. Earlier today I also put a jumper wire in place of the Daytime Running lamp relay (it gave up a long time ago and I just left it unplugged) and while looking for the wire that goes to the indicator in the cab I put a jumper on several of the other wires in the plug. Could I have fried something while I did that? Except for unplugging and reconnecting the plugs at the back of the gauge cluster I didn't touch any wiring behind the dash. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Toby in Pemberton, B.C.

Derek,
Most people don't get it... The guy who ordered the truck wanted a heavy duty 1 ton but as a 250 so it got special ordered as such... I really think it's a W350 that they stuck the 250 numbers on and put in the records that it's a 250 but it's got the same capacity as a 350... 5200Lb front end, dually rear end... Hope that helps.

Might have fried something in the cluster with your electrical troubleshooting technique... try to use a wiring diagram/schematic and a multimeter for that sort of thing

Toby, the only thing I can think of is a bad connection up in the dash. It worked before you pulled the cluster. The only wires are power, ground, and VSS signal.

What's the 6th character of your VIN?

Wannadiesel, Sorry about the long delay, I pulled the codes from my truck yesterday and it sais the Vehicle Speed sensor is bad so I have a new one on order now... We'll see if it fixes it. The 6th figure in my VIN is "2". Hope that helps,
