It doesn't look like there's any plates/washers between frame and steering box. I will take pictures and post them.

The steering box will mount directly to the frame in the two wheel drive position. the plate changes the angle of the gear To match the draglink on the 4WD trucks.

I with you Mark. It sounds like a wicked hack job... but I am waiting for some pictures so I can stop guessing at what is going on.
At least you sound like you are in need of a steering box plate there Silver RT...I'd love a picture of the silver '68 Charger while your at it.

Here's some pictures, you can see there's nothing between steering box and frame, box is bolted directly to the frame. I was thinking if its possible to get DSS steering brace like on 2nd gen to 1st gen.

Well, that explains a lot.

This truck has the aftermarket crossover steering conversion.

If NOTHING is loose (as you have been instructed to do by Oliver) then for me, I would take it to an alignment shop to see if they find anything unusual. My 92 was wandering all over the place. Turned out to be the adjustment for toe that caused it. Took it to a "real truck shop", they computer aligned it, and it's been perfect ever since.

Make sure the tires are at max PSI as well, as our front ends are heavy with the lump up above them.

As T-man mentions you have lifted rig [I am guessing 4 / 6 inch lift] with an after market cross over steering unit.

The first brace might help, but if you have loose parts it is not going to fix the existing problem. I would solve the problem first BEFORE installing this brace.

No there in not a [DSS] brace styled like there is for the 2nd gens.

Looking to install Dual steering stabilizer on truck as well. Truck will be taken to alignment shop to check alignment and see why steering is loose.

Get it checked out and aligned and working right before installing the steering stabilizer. if not it will only mask any problems and they will return.

Here's a weld-in brace solution...

cross over steering frame supports DONE & available!!! - Dodge Ram, Ramcharger, Cummins, Jeep, Durango, Power Wagon, Trailduster, all Mopar Truck & SUV Owners. Dodgeram

FWIW, lifted, flexy springs might not be doing the best job of locating the axle laterally.... which defeats some of your steering input. A trac bar could actually help.

I personally prefer the reproduction bolt on steering brace from dodgeconnection....I have a OEM original one on the crewcab and like it. The weld on kit from Jungle is probably a good one...he makes great products, but I am not confident enough in my welding skills to install it.
