24 valve to 12 valve conversion

I Have A 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo 24 Valve 5 Speed 5.9L Truck That I Have Switched With A 1994 12valve Diesel Engine. I Need To Know Either Two Things. Does Anyone Know How To Hook Up The 1994 Wiring Harness(12 V) To The 1999 Ecm Unit? Will the PCM talk correctly to the BCM to get the tachometer to work? Any help would be appreciated.
I am new here so I don't know if this should go under 12 valve or 24 valve so I have posted both.

you need a 98 12 valve wiring harness for it to talk with the newer style dashboard

Dshiftff....
I have spent alot on this conversion and have asked a half-a-million(or there abouts) concerning the 98 1/2 wiring harness and I have been told 'I don' t know if it will work". What makes you think that it will communicate with the '24' v computer? Just wanting to be totally sure before I buy a harness. Thanks, Scott.

Rich,

Did you convert from a 24 valve to a 12 valve? If so, what did you do for the wiring harness?

Scott up at mass diesel did one with it and it worked great. I used the 01 harness and spliced in all my connectors, etc. A little more time consuming.

Best way to do a 12v swap on a '98-'02 24V is using a complete 3 month '98.0 12V wiring harness.

Hard to find the right parts, but makes the installation go smoothly.
