I'll be tied up on the weekends for awhile. I'm going to try to get to Ardmore on the 21st, but that's not a sure thing as of now.

Charlie,
I was just thinkin' (I try to keep that to a minimum), since it took someone forever to do his airbags, we never got a chance to do the maintenance on your quad.

Max, was this your first time on the track? You done quite well to take that much time off of your first run. Didn't you beat someone on your second run? A few more HP, some shifting practice and a lot of $$$ and you'll be really hooked.

Yes it was, first time ever to be behind the tree, with my addictive personality BOMBing the truck could lead to the end of my bank account and tires , yea one of racergurls buddy's dually DMAX, he played nicely, 2WD.

And you have to come up to Ardmore on the 21st!
1/4 mile gives you more time to enjoy the process and be aware on what's happening. Also, with the straight line acceleration curve of a compression ignition engine, it's fun beating all those 350 hp, small block chevys that do pretty well in a 1/8 mile but have little pull left for the 2nd 1/8 mile! I can't remember how many time I've been neck and neck with gassers, at the 1/8 pole, and won by 4 lengths in the 1/4 mile.

RJ

i do think i can shine alot better in the 1/4, RJ, what kind of numbers can you post in the 1/8th? the "fast" truck that night ran 7.8 or something, could you have won $500? also, will the 21st be less crowded? or maybe even a slower crowd?

max there's a sps66 for sale in the classifieds.... That'll make you go a little faster!

BYE BYE wallet.... , seems like its not just a turbo install, have to do injectors and head studs, and probably better gauges. so theres 4 grand....+/-

ardmore is one of my fav. 1/4 milers around! but as far as beating small block chevys, aint happenin with this lil girl i can prove that little theory wrong my car does darn well in the 1/8 and just as good in the 1/4, you boys might stand a chance at reading my rearend

calm down racergurl, anyways your 409 is a big block so clearly he is not talking to you, unless you fit nito that 350HP range, which that motor made stock out of the factory in 1963, so you might have a couple more ponies

Don't have my time slips here but I do know I have never been in the 7's .... and never over 90 mph.
(I do remember at least two 8.1 sec runs and several at 89+ mph).

Only streetable diesel truck I personally have ever seen get over 90 mph was Jim Jones in Quadzilla's Duramax! I would have expected Ray Salter's maroon 01 to be faster than 7.8, with three stages of NOS??

Yes, Ardmore is only track within 100 miles of DFW that has max of 5 min wait in line; usually a lot less! Never real crowded.... just good country racing ..... and on average, more home built cars with slower times.

Just finished testing cool air temperatures at Primary turbo (bottom), Secondary turbo (top) and IAT (engine Intake Air Temp).
Very interesting data, IMO.
Anyone interested in the results... send me your e-mail address! (bnold, XLR8R, Diesel_Dan, Crotex, BigBlue .... sent data today).

I would love to compare this info with single turbo temps if anyone has it (or knows someone) for 2nd Gen CTD.
XLR8R, could you send me your 3rd Gen testing results?

RJ

13FOX, thanks for the offer, but if I make it, it will probably be for just the races and then back home.
