Woke up this am and realized our president was very busy this past winter..... breeding a particularly virulent and nasty, new herd of Chiggers!
I sprayed my feet & legs when I got to the ranch and was not worried when I dropped my tranny pan..... to changed out the valve body pressure solenoid, because I was parked on the gravel drive. But these new critters live in gravel !!!!!!!! My butt, back and arm pits are covered with itchy, red welts.

There is some good news, though! When I went to Wal Mart early this am, I didn't get my usual "your not from around here, are you" looks!
Scratching my butt while I walked around had me fitting right in with all the other Okies!

Chiggers aside.... great get together at the ranch, Charlie! Fun Saturday... great to see Diesel Dan again .... glad Mike made it to races with us .... saw the "Cummins Rail" run a 150 mph?? (anyone remember exact time/speed) .... impressed by Matt's power shifting his new 04 w/ a NV5600 .... Max made his first run on a drag strip and appears hooked on racing (more HP to follow shortly?) and we had perfect truck bed sleeping weather!

Thanks to Tyler for help changing parts on my Valve Body. Getting the pan off & on is much easier with extra set of hands to prevent ATF bath. It now shifts like brand new DTT tranny! Also thanks to Charlie for help with full brake fluid R&R.... and, as always, for use of the ranch! Chiggers aside, it's a great spot for DTR meets!

I don't understand this "chigger" thing. I've never been bitten and have never seen one. You guys must bring them with you and the ambiance of The Ranch must make them more active.

It was a good weekend. Good time at the track and some got a few things done. I have a few odds and ends to do to my truck, but never seem to get around to it.

i have been blessed by never getting them, and i am in grass all day long.

There is some good news, though! When I went to Wal Mart early this am, I didn't get my usual "your not from around here, are you" looks!

the cummins rail was fast and NEAT, i cant remember the time. Matt can shift that ole girl pretty well, my first run was a 10.5, and the second was 9.8 and i think there is still room for improvement .... more HP? who knows, parts at this point get $$$$$

adding letters..

Max, was this your first time on the track? You done quite well to take that much time off of your first run. Didn't you beat someone on your second run? A few more HP, some shifting practice and a lot of $$$ and you'll be really hooked.

And you have to come up to Ardmore on the 21st!
1/4 mile gives you more time to enjoy the process and be aware on what's happening. Also, with the straight line acceleration curve of a compression ignition engine, it's fun beating all those 350 hp, small block chevys that do pretty well in a 1/8 mile but have little pull left for the 2nd 1/8 mile! I can't remember how many time I've been neck and neck with gassers, at the 1/8 pole, and won by 4 lengths in the 1/4 mile.

No chiggers this trip...must have been the extra carbon in the fire that kept them away.
