WOW!!!
All I can say it WOW! I towed my 5ver for the first time with the new truck today. It was truely amazing. I can't believe how much better it pulls, and how much more stable it is than the old truck. I can tell you this; after towing with the 6spd, I'll never go back to auto again. It was great. You have so much more control over the truck in terms of keeping the RPM's in the sweet spot, and getting the most power out of the engine. Just thought I'd let you guys know how great it was. We're going on a 500 mile trip this coming weekend so I'm very much looking forward to the drive.

Jack, If I remember the area in North Carolina it was somewhat rolling to steep hills? If you think the 6sp helped a lot then add on an exhaust brake. It will make you kick your self for not having one until now.
I drove a lot of miles, with a lot more weight without one, knowing what I know now I would not do again.

Thanks for the info. I plan on doing that soon. I did have one on my old truck after I put the third tranny in, which was an ATS Stage IV that was a very good unit. The two before it... well.. weren't great. I'm probably going to put a Pac-Brake on it in the next few weeks. Can't wait. ;D

Yep, now you know why we are smiling. And, the comments about the Ebrake are right on. It is great with the straight stick - - really helped in the Smokies. Hardly used the regular brakes. Glad you are happy.

Your truck sounds exciting- I am probably going to get either a 2004 next year or wait for the 2005 if it looks like it is worth waiting for. What weight trailer were you towing?? What kind of fuel economy did you get?? How about towing speed- What rearend ratio do you have??
Re:WOW!!!
Glad you like your truck. My SRW,HO, 3500, AUTO, 410, did a great job from Michigan to Myrtle Beach pulling my 12,000 5er, I sure was happy with It in the SMOKIES also. For the whole trip I got 11.1 going 70mph. On a flat road for over 200 miles I got 11.7 mpg. Not to shabbie pulling a high profile 5er. ( 12' 6" )
