Distribution hitch vs Sway control hitch
Everyone needs to remember that the factory hitch is only rated for 500 lbs of tongue weight without a weight distribution hitch. And our hitches aren't the best, so I'd closely follow this rating.
Yes thats one of the reasons I bought it. The kinds with the chains (no chains on Eqaulizer) you have to unhook the chains- a real PITA...
You don't have to drill/weld holes in the frame like the Reese dual cam requires either. Super easy to install and calibrate for your vehicle too

WD backing up
You can back up without any troubles as long as you don't go overboard on your turning radius. I made that mistake on my first trailer and got lucky and only busted a mounting bolt. The easiest way around that is to release the bars. I've never pulled the trundle style, so I have no insights into those.
12 years with the Reese dual cam sway control and I have never had to unhook the bars while backing and I have been so tight that the trailer is almost 90 degrees to the truck. This happens when I put the trailer in its parking spot at home.
The only thing about them that I don’t like is they make a lot of noise when turning even if you lube them. I was told by a Reese tech the recommended lube is Vaseline on the sway control. And a very small amount at that

He said it was passing semi's,thats a problem I've yet to find a solution for.
Theres a art to it,when you get about even with the trailer of the semi it pulls you towards it,then next to the tractor it starts to you away,then when the front of your trailer is even with the front of the tractor it steers you towards the truck again,then when the rear of your trailer is going past the truck it gives you an extra wiggle...(usually away,making you look goofy!)
