Top 3, in order of price:
1. Brake Smart
2. Jordan
3. Prodigy

Most guys seem to favor the Jordan. I have a Prodigy and love it. Cost me $107 from a internet site.

Check out pricing on the net. Prices vary greatly so be sure to look at lots of sites.

If starting from scratch I would get a Jordan, I have a Tekonsha Voyager, it works well, but I'm wanting to upgrade. As always.

What kind of trailer are you wanting?

Another vote for the Prodigy, very good control for electric brakes. As already said, price varys GREATLY so shop around.

Go with one that has the ability to adjust the power to the trailer brakes with the power on the brake pedel. I have one that has two brake positions full power or no power. It is annoying to me.

Another vote for Jordan. I had the Voyager and there is no comparison between the two.

Jordan. Had a Drawtite.........no comparison. I pull near to 14k lbs and it seems like nothing is back there when stopping.

1. Brake$mart if you want to spend the $$$$ to have the best

2. Jordan Ultima 2020 for a good, cost-effective alternative

3. Don't mess around with an inertial or a ramped time-base controller

I like my Jordan, a cable is connected to your brake pedal, the farther you push, the more stoppy you do.

BrakeSmart!!! I would gladly pay the extra bucks AGAIN for one. Mine has been flawless in the two years I have owned it. Truck and trailer feel like they are one unit braking together due to the tap at the hydraulic brake reservoir output and the transducer used. An added plus is the diagnostic it does on your trailer brake system. Very reassuring!

Also it can detect electric AND Hydraulic brake systems. See PDF: http://www.turbobrake.com/BrakeSmartFAQ.pdf
