Who To Buy From??
I'm wanting to buy a new VP44, Mine has not failed me yet but I have 178,000 miles, and don't want to be stranded when it does go. Also I don't fell right about installing injectors with the old VP. I've heard about the Hot Rod VP but some people don't care for them but I would be interested in buying an IP with 70 to 100 extra hp. Is the HRVP worth the extra doe or do i settle for a regular one? Who do I buy from, II, BD, or is there somewhere else?

If you planning on putting injectors in just get an so vp. They can be had for 1100ish. You will make ruffly the same power with either pump and injectors so might as well put the extra 600 700 to some good sticks. Just search any of the vendors on the site and you will find the vps. I suggest an so vp.

All the pumps are built to the same Bosch speck, on the same equipment, the only reason to get any specific one, is a Blue Chip, if you run one of their wire tap boxes, because they will warranty it.
I can't really offer any input on SO/HR, other than the guys running a HR pump on a mostly stock truck have been happy...

What do y'all think of the stealth cover for the wirer tap? I don't have my tapped at the moment, would like a better way to tap the wire on the new pump. Also, how hard is it to install the pump, is it simple bolt on or do you have to make sure of the timing?
Thanks for the info!

SO = Standard Output, comes on every Dodge besides 6spd which have HO= High Output which make like 10 more hp bone stock and a few more ft lbs of torque but HO are good for making alot of horse power out of these trucks.
SO pumps are capible of making more if not the same as an HRVP pump with the right set of injectors....I would stick with the SO pump and buy a nice set of EDM injectors with the extra $700.
Pump swap isn't to bad, have to take off all the injection lines 6 mounting bolts and a bracket, wire harness, then the gear nut. Just dont drop it down in the gear case use a magnet on the end of the shaft when taking off the nut & washer. And as far as the new pump going in there's a key way in the pump shaft that needs to be lined up with the gear slot.

I just got mine from Pensacola Diesel. Was under $950 and they are a Bosch authorized dealer. I am happy with the pump, truck works well and I got a great improvement in fuel mileage (from 18.5 to 23 on the highway).
