Stupid question is the one not asked?

Or so I've been told, so here goes:

I've now got my guages and want a bit more (I know its a disease, but I'm willing to suffer...) ooomph!

In researching threads here, it sounds like the Van Aaken box will do the trick for me and what I want. I do occasionally tow about 6k#s.

My question is, with my '01, do I need anything else? I found I was missing all kinds of little odds and ends after ordering my guages (boost bolt, figuring out the tranny temp mount, etc...) and don't want to go through this again.

Is this box truly plug and play? Will I get everything it has to offer with just the box?

I do not know about the box , but I've found that if you get your after market stuff a place that focuses on what ever your working on , your more likely to get all the miss. stuff.
Not from a catalog like Summit , for example, unless you know every part you need , if they do not specificaly do Dodge -Cummins as a part of there buis.
I ordered my stuff from a place like this and needed not a single extra anything .
Sorry but that place is sold and I do not have there contact info.
The next is that being familier with these trucks the person on the other end of the phone will make suggestions , I'm just getting started so making any directions dosen't work , I like to have my own experance before recomending but with all the expirence here just make a mental note of the suppliers.

The VA Box is plug and play. You want the one that plugs into the "Data Port" .... not the one that requires tapping into the Injector pump wire (cheap on E-bay).
It's also about all you can throw at a Stock Auto Tranny without problems. Go easy with it for a while... test in increments with right foot .... if you don't know how strong your tranny is.
It is a great addition with good noticable power jump.

Thanks. All this talk of boost elbows, etc... had me worried I needed more than just the box. I've been scouting the classifieds as it seems many are upgrading to bigger boxes, etc.. so will probably go that route.

I have the Van Aaken V5 and RV275 injectors. This is an
awesome combo for towing. No EGT worrys. Although with
this combo I can slip my clutch in 5th and 6th gear if
I jump on it below 1600 rpm's.

There was mention of tapping the pump wire on the VA "R" box, that's not really the case. I believe you only need to this with a fueling box like the comp. The VA "R" box plugs into the pump but does not tap or splice on. If your pump is still on warranty with your 02 then go with the V5 version. Plugging into the injector pump with the "R" box may require removal of a void sticker. Otherwise the identical box. Please correct me if I'm off my rocker.

You are correct, the R box does not tap the wire, it plugs in series to the pump loom. Mine came with a spare void sticker ..... I wonder what that would be for?
