Ever since I replaced the rear main seal the trans dipstick tube has leaked. Replaced the O-ring with a new one and it still leaks. Never have had this problem with any TorqueFlite equipped vehicle I've ever owned. The local Napa wasn't able to help other than provide the same size that's leaking! Where do I get an O-ring that won't leak? The books at Napa didn't list anything.

leaklock from grainger! it's about 2 bucks for a tube. $%#& is amazing with little annoying, time consuming, sleep loosing leaks. good luck!!

Don't think I want to use some goop on it. When the tube gets pulled you get a red fountain coming out of the hole! I'm thinking a source for the O-ring would be a trans. shop. Problem is they're usually open Mon-Fri and I'm gone 5:30Am- 5:00PM Mon-Fri.

I'm thinking you've got a little too much fluid in your tranny if you get fluid coming out when you pull the filler tube.

Not too much according to the dipstick. When the truck is running the fluid gets pumped thru-out the trans, when it's off it returns to the pan -except from the convertor. That's why you check the fluid level while hot, idling in neutral otherwise the level would be too low while running.

Update;
The owner of a small trans shop in town just happened to there working on his own vehicle on Sat. so I stopped in. He gave me a couple O-rings and a partial tube of Mopar ATF-RTV. He uses the ATF-RTV on Mopar front drivers and says it holds up to ATF better than other sillycones. He informed me that to not get the red fountain when pulling the tube to run it briefly to pump the fluid into the trans and convertor which gives you a few minutes to pull the tube. I put a new O-ring on the tube and smeared it with the RTV - we'll see how it works.
The shop owner has a '57 Chrysler 300 hardtop with the 392 with dual quads - pretty cool but needs a total resto and has been sitting for 20 years. Anyone know of a floor pan for the 300?
