Over boost
OH, yeah the check book would be a small problem........my ex-wife never saw it so I could get away with murder if I wanted to!!!
Is your truck running bad, or is it just throwing the codes?? If it's just the codes and it still runs like normal I wouldn't worry about it.......you should be fine!!!

I'd keep running it, if it's not running bad it should still be working ok just not blocking the codes. I'd leave it in until you notice it to start running bad and then yank it out........no use getting rid of it if you don't have to

I unhooked the box yesterday and I was still getting to much boost. Since it is the waste gate sticking, what do I do to fix the problem? I was just messing around later that day and got 30 psi of boost
You can test the air charge system. Dealer has the tool and some have fabricated ones here. See my picts of one installed as I was testing mine the other night. Found my turnbuckle had loosened allowing the wastegate to open slightly.
Mine was throwing over boost codes and it was a loose connection on the map sensor. I'm getting 31 to 32 lbs of boost with the EZ and boost elbow. The boost elbow allows higher boost than factory level. If your connection is good on the map sensor, it's probably a bad box.

I haven't checked for a loose conection on the map sensor yet, I will look into it. I unhooked teh box and I was still getting to much boost, 24 psi without really getting on it. That is why I was looking at the waste gate, I thought that it wasn't closing.
Too much boost, with the box off means the wastegate is not OPENING. It is hanging up...closed.
You could pull the hose off the turbo and test the wastegate operation with air pressure (and a gauge)....see if/when it opens.

I had just posted a question in another thread about testing the wastegate....and found my answer here,,, I was wondering how much pressure it took to open wastegate,,,, So I just went out to my garage and pulled the line of the turbo on the compressor side and slowly put air press to it to see when it opened...It NEVER opened.... ALL you can hear is air escaping,I thought there was a hole in the hose,, The air was escaping right out of the Actuator. You could feel the air coming right out where the shaft goes in the actuator....So I think I found MY overboost code,,,So Much for buying that new map sensor.
Thanks
