Injector replacement questions??

Hi, I am looking at replacing the injectors in my 2001.5 HO/6 speed 4x4. I currently have a Banks Power Pack in it which included a bigger turbo housing, ram air manifold, gauges, 4" exhaust and ottomind computer. The truck makes 36 lbs of boost. I bought the truck like this and so far so good, but i want a little more power and smoke when i want to. i have seen the Bosch 275's for cheap, and was also looking at the DD 2's. Form what I have read the DD's will give more power, but cost a little more. Right now my truck will barely smoke, it's almost invisible. What kind of smoke can I expect with either of these injectors. Any suggestions welcome, thanks, --Neil

With the Banks Ottomind computer it will defuel to contol egt's so i dont think you will get it to smoke much with any injectors. Now put on a comp box or a tst & you will get smoke & high egt's.

Thanks, what about initial smoke, like when you stomp it in the lower rpm's before the boost comes up?

The DD2's will make twice the power (roughly 90) than the 275's, and you'll get the smoke you want.
But save some $$ for a clutch too because you'll be past the limits of your stock one.

Startup smoke

My 275's will smoke on low boost because I have the TTPM on level 2 which only fuels after the boost has reached 12 psi. Of course, the ECM doesn't know about any of this, hence the smoke. The combo I have is about all the stock clutch will handle so if you get the DD2's, you'll need a clutch upgrade.
