HELP with TST Comp

I installed a TST comp and a FASS on my 2000 3/4 ton 5speed on Thursday. So far it has been GREAT. Today I was comming home on level 4 TST going about 55 to 60 and stomped on it to get up around someone and my truck started bucking like it the power was kinda cutting on and off. I can get it to do this every once in a while but does not do it all the time. I dont know if this is what people call dead pedal or if this is different. what could be wrong?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?? If not get one.. may be running the injection pump out of fuel... If pressure is good may be pushing a weak IP too hard...

Ahh skipped the FASS part... Fuel pressure is good then... TST fuels very hard... I'll experience a shudder when backing off the throttle on 7 or above.. Most think it is the pump cavitating

Yea, I get the shudder on let off when I am in upper levels also, but this is when I push the throttle. it is like it just wants to die, come back and die real fast like. almost like you turn the key off for a half second then turn it back on, off, on, off .......

Check what fuse? My PM3 Comp always does this if you don't run it out to redline on levels above 4, and I get a little shudder on 4 too. Never actually established what causes this, but it hasn't hurt anything that I'm aware of, yet.

I was responding to this, Chris. If the fuse is loose it could act this way.

I have the Comp too by the way, mine runs fine on the upper levels, I only get the shudder when letting out of the fuel, levels 4 and above.

Sorry, I just realized you have a 5 speed. The Comp could act this way on a handshacker as TigerRag's is pretty ragged on the up levels. I would still check the fuse to make sure it in there tight.

I would also check the connection at the IP. If you dont have a solid connection it will shudder. Where is your ground?

Bingo, Check the connections, and watch and see if the lights on the box are blinking when it is missing.
