I've been out of the diesel world for a hot minute- probably late 2015 my career went into overdrive, and I stopped having time for extracurriculars... promotions, deployments, moving to Japan, then retirement and starting school full time- I've been busy! I kept the maintenance up on the truck, but haven't done anything performance or upgrade wise. I retired about 4 years ago, and finally got back to working on the truck a few months ago. I have a ton of parts to freshen the old girl up- my first big project is the interior.

I started by pulling the seats. The legs were pretty beat up and the driver side seat cushion and cover were toast. I found a guy who makes custom seat covers and sent mine in as a template since he didn't have my seat design yet. I'm getting some two tone and some embroidery- we'll see how that looks.

 

While the seats are out, I'm doing some sound deadening mat. It's not terribly difficult, just very time consuming. I have the passenger side floor and both doors done- I had to get in some pretty funky positions to get everything inside the doors.

 

I'm going to start the driver side tomorrow. Still on the docket: Heater treater doors (4), new front defroster dash piece, all LED bulbs inside, adding a second dome light over the back seat, painting the bottom of the door jambs with some undercoating/bedliner type stuff, hunt down a roof leak I've had for about 5 years, new hanger hooks, new weatherstripping for the lower part of the doors, figure out the common windshield wiper triple swipe/freeze issue, and probably try to clean the AC evaporator . I rented a machine and cleaned the carpets, but some of those stains aren't coming out, I have used this truck like a truck for at least part of its life. Once I get that roof leak figured out, I may get new carpet.
