fuel plate

Hey all, I ground my fuel plate to 100 and it is awesome! Now I would like to put in a stock or less aggressive one due to smoke/mpg issues. Anyone know where I could buy one from, I am in Ontario Canada thanks!

Pretty much any diesel shop will be able to sell you something less aggressive.

Have you tried tuning the AFC and Starwheel to control the smoke?

Piers diesel sells them , PM CTD NUT , he is in ontario and could point you at some places in ontario if there are any. In any case , back off the star wheel and slide the plate back (make sure to adj the gov arm for the new plate setting) and it should greatly help out with smoke, but it will also cut back on available power.

Thanks guys, right now I still have the star wheel backed off all the way. Can you tell me more about adjusting the governor arm? Thats not ringing any bells, because when I did the plate I just took it out, ground it and put it back in.. Oh by the way the plate is slid all the way back allready. Thanks!

U will also notice this

when you screw down the AFC housing onto the IP if you notice, you will see that the AFC housing can be moved forward towards the front of the engine, or back towards the firewall. These two or so MM's that you use to adjust the play in the housing can make a huge difference in everything else..

Since this comp im on is not to tolerable of multi tasking, ill direct you to it

www.dodgedieseldatabase.com
go to the 12V engine and fueling
and look for the governer arm adjustment..

Better yet, ill do u one better

Thanks!

If you are talkin about the governer arm adjustment

Im afraid that I cannot help you there, but with a small socket and a screwdriver from a chainsaw (carb adjust? maybe) i have read that you can adjust the governer arm. I havent done mine, simply cause i aint been able to break off the screws, but at a 2/3 forward plate it runs flawlessly..

Ps. U can PM robert chilton on here, he was the one that suggested that Idea, or perhaps he will chime in..

Rick
