Just a thought, but how hot do those things get? They look like they are up aginst the wood box.

I have them sitting up on 1/2" square tubing, to keep an air gap over the wood.
And I will check them, to be sure there's no hot spots.
Thanks for your concern. Sometimes when you do something, you overlook possible problems, and need them pointed out to you.

Ive got mine laying on the bedliner,they are as low as they can go in the bed,and they are a half inch or so away from the front of the bed,again right up on the plastic liner,nothing has melted.when you spit on the y pipe they sizzle but not that much,Ive stuck my hand on them and they dont burn.
