1999 cummins 4" straight pipe edge comp very little smoke on 5x5 sould i see alot of smoke? second comp ive put in thinking first one was defective, drove 2001 with comp lots of smoke any suggestions or answers?

 

how does the power feel?is there a diference from setting 1-5?if not check your conection to the injection pump.also check the ground.she should smoke.before the injectors mine would smoke but not huge,with the injectors its huge till turbo spools up.check those conections,you may be in ez mode.

With stock injectors if your truck is running good you probably won't get much smoke. As long as you have enough air to burn the fuel your injectors are sending through you should be smoke free. This is a good thing, means you have your truck balanced right on the air to fuel ratio. If you want smoke get a set of RV 275 injectors, turn the Comp up and watch it roll. But remember smoke means wasted fuel for daily driving.

 

My comp only works on setting 1*5 now.Sometimes it freezes.Egde said i needed the software update on it to keep this from happining I am going to edge to get the version 8.0 software update on wesnday. They say if you have a 7.0 version box that it would bennifit from updating the software. While i'm there i'm getting the drag mod wohoo.

So how can you tell what version of software you have??

 

There should be a label on the back of the comp stating which version you have.
