Phatboy: how about that report on your H.O. HRVP?
I have the same truck and it doesn't look good for my stock, 90K mi. VP. Speak to me O' wise one. (or anyone out there who have replaced their H.O. VP44 with a hot rod)
I've heard conflicting reports of how much or little extra power you get with the hot rod when applied to the High Output 24V, compared to the big power you get when applied to the Standard Output 24V.
regards, as always, jefe

The previous owner had the VP replaced under warrenty at 45K. I replaced that VP at 145k. At the same time as the HRVP- Mr Doug Smith of PDW installed injectors and a turbo. The problem with this is while I *know* I'm getting a lot more fuel than before I cannot distinguish between the HRVP and the injectors.
From what I understand a HRVP will take away the power limitations of the HO. Look at Bartman's post on the second link below (#11), my impressions on the ETH are about the same as his. Makes a chugging sound real low in the RPMs sometimes, but I like it Between 750-900 rpms. Sounds like its loping Idle is up a bit too. Idles at 900.
My impressions are here: Mileage report to be added soon =P https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=87601
Another good thread with some dyno #'s
