Best way to recalibrate speedometer

I just put larger tires on my truck (275s) and my speedo is off about 2.5mph at 70. Whats the best way to get it recalibrated? Can it be done at the dealer? Ive also considered buying a Smarty which would take care of the problem too. Just lookin for the best way to go.

I use my Smarty and a GPS to get it right.

Dealer can do it too.

I'm sure it will be more than it's worth...dealers have to make up for their poor sales numbers somehow.

As above...call your local dealers, one might charge less. And be sure to check it with a GPS if you can.

I just called the dealer and they said it would be a half hour of labor, around $37.50. I thought it would be more than that. Hoping it would be a good excuse to buy a smarty.

Well...

If they don't get it right the first time, double that cost. You can do it in 3 minutes with a Smarty.

If your truck has problems the Smarty is also a code reader so a few times to the shop to have the problem diagnosed will cost you a couple of hundred.

And best of all the Smarty gives you power...and how can you put a price on power?

The Smarty was the single best thing I bought for my truck in 11 years of owning it. Four of my friends bought them also after trying mine and they all love them too. One "friend" didn't come back for two days after I put it on his truck to try. I wanted to kill him but I couldn't find him and if i did I wouldn't have been able to catch him.

If you want a Smarty, quit trying to justify it and buy it already.

I had my speedo done at the dealer after I got rid of my Smarty, they had it bang on the first time. Took them 5 min. If it was out, I would've been back demanding a free re-calibration.

I called the dealer the other day about recalibrating my speedo with the 35's and they told me that 33 inch was as large as they can go! Any truth to this, or should I try another dealer? Thanks!

Go to another dealer. All they change is revs/mile in the PCM.

Last time I did it, 33" was about the limit of the available sizes(p-metric) in the DRBIII. They don't have much available for choices in there.
