Speedo Correction/Recalibrate?

G'day guys,

Have just had 35" tyres fitted to my truck, and am aware it will put my speed out.

Any advice oh how to have the speedo recalibrated?

Cheers,

You have to take it to the dealer and have them change the settings... They use the DRB tool to change your revolutions per mile in the computer. It's 601 revs/mile for 315/70/R17... those tires are 34.5 inches tall, so that would be close to what you are using. If you want to be exact, go to the tire manufacturer's website and see if you can find the revs/mile for your size. I know they have this info on BFG's website.

Most dealers want between $40-$80 to do this, but if you have a good relationship with your dealer, you might be able to get it for less, or even free! Just do some begging. It only takes them like 5 minutes to do it, so I can't see paying a lot for it.

Just checked out the TOYO website. Lists rotation as 593, as the dealer has my truck at the moment (doing paint protection/rust protection) I'll ge them to do the recallibrate

Thanks again!

No problem, just make sure they input the number YOU give them... I've heard stories where the tech tried to find the correct revs themselves and inputted the wrong number, thus making the speedo off... if 593 is what the tire manufacturer says for your exact tire size, then that should be the only number they put in. They have a list of pre-defined sizes in the DRB, so if they can't find your size, have them look under "other" on the menu and they should be able to input it manually.

Maybe you'll get a great deal since your truck is already in there.
