Upping tire size on 2wd with leveling kit?

I just spent a bunch of cash and band-aids for my nuckles restoring the suspension and steering on the front end of my 2001 2wd and am now ready for tires. I also replaced the front springs with ones 2 inches longer than the stockers. I love the stance, it sits nice and level. I currently have 265/75-16 Michillen ATX's on the stock rims and would to replace them with BFG AT KO's of a slightly larger size. Anyone have any experience with larger tires on a 2wd. I did a search but all I came up with are 3+ year old posts with not much info.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I don't have any experience with 2wd but, I think you would be able to run 285/75's (33 in.) without any problems. That's what most people around here are running. They would be about an inch wider and taller than the 265's. The next step up in diameter would be 35 in. tires. I personally don't see the need for 35's on a 2wd, plus you may run into rubbing issues. Happy Lombardi Gras (belated, I know)

I run 305/50/R20's on my 2wd, but the rim offset is not stock. If stock, I could have probably gone with 305/55/R20's. They very slightly rub the inner fender plastic. Not enough to wear it even, but just noticable. I plan on lifting it 1.5" with spacers which should clear easy.

It should at least give you an example to compare with.

Thanks guys. I ended up going with 285/75/16s. I like the way the look much better than the stockers. I was going to go with the BFG KOs but they quit making them in that size in load range E. Go figure. I ended up going with Nitto Terra Graplers in that size. I like them a lot. I just hope they last.

Hey kreynolds, what neck of LA are you from? I'm near New Orleans now, but will be moving near Baton Rouge within the end of the year.

I'm up north near Ruston. For a big city B.R. is great. You cant beat a Saturday night at death valley.
I've been looking at the Nitto tires. Let us know how they hold up.

That's what I have on my truck also. So far so good, but only a few weeks old.
